About Nador International School
Nador International School (NIS) is a new international school in Nador, Morocco. NIS aims to connect high-quality international education with personal development, multilingualism and strong engagement with the local community.
From opening, NIS will offer education within Cambridge Early Years, Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary. In a next development phase, the educational offering will be expanded with Cambridge Upper Secondary and Cambridge Advanced.
As a new school, NIS offers staff the opportunity to contribute actively to the development of its education, school culture and school community.
About the role
As a teaching assistant, you support the teacher in teaching and in the daily guidance of students within Cambridge Early Years and Cambridge Primary. You work with individual students and small groups and help create a safe, structured and stimulating learning environment.
You support students in their development and independence, help prepare activities and materials and contribute to a pleasant, well-organised school day.
You work closely with teachers and colleagues and maintain a professional and engaged attitude towards students and parents.
Key responsibilities
As a teaching assistant, you:
- support the teacher in preparing and delivering learning activities;
- guide individual students and small groups;
- help create a safe, warm and well-organised learning environment;
- prepare lesson and activity materials;
- support students’ social, emotional and cognitive development;
- observe students and share relevant findings with the teacher;
- support students with different educational and support needs where necessary;
- supervise students during activities, breaks and transition moments;
- encourage independence, collaboration and positive behaviour;
- contribute to activities and the further development of the school community.
What you bring
Required qualifications
You have:
- at least a baccalaureate diploma or an equivalent qualification;
- a good command of English, appropriate to working in an international school environment;
- affinity with the development and guidance of children;
- good communication and collaboration skills;
- a responsible, patient and professional attitude;
- the willingness to contribute actively to the development of a new international school.
Desirable:
- a relevant qualification in education, childcare or educational support;
- experience as a teaching assistant or in a comparable role;
- experience in an international or multilingual school environment;
- experience with Cambridge Early Years, Cambridge Primary or a comparable international curriculum;
- command of French and/or Arabic.
