A learning environment that grows with our students
The Nador International School (NIS) campus is being developed as a safe, contemporary and stimulating learning environment in which every stage of the school journey has its own place. From play and discovery in Early Years to collaborating, investigating and increasingly independent learning in Primary and Lower Secondary: the design of NIS grows along with our students’ development.
Designed around our learning pathway
A fitting learning environment for every stage
The NIS learning environment is built around the different stages of our learning pathway. The design of classrooms, shared spaces and specialist learning environments is tailored to students’ age, the way they learn and their growing independence.
Early Years
A warm, clearly organised and playful environment in which young children can learn through discovery, movement and experience. Classrooms are complemented by space for play, motor development, creativity and rest.
Primary
Flexible classrooms and shared learning environments support instruction, collaboration, reading, discovery and independent learning. The design encourages students to take ever more responsibility for their own learning process.
Lower Secondary
A more academic learning environment supports the transition to more subject-focused education. Collaboration, enquiry, digital skills and independent study take an increasingly important place.
Upper Secondary
An academic learning environment with growing use of specialist spaces, focused on subject depth and the Cambridge IGCSE route. This stage is being developed in phases.
Advanced
Space for academic specialisation, independent research and study orientation towards further education. This stage is being developed in phases.
Spaces that support learning
Room to discover, create and go deeper
The campus combines classrooms with specialist and shared spaces that support different forms of learning, investigating, creating and collaborating.
Science & hands-on enquiry
Specialist science spaces support practical and enquiry-based learning in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Students have room to observe, investigate, experiment and explore scientific ideas in practice.
Technology & digital learning
A dedicated ICT room and digital facilities within the learning environment support the use of technology in education and the development of digital skills.
Library, reading & study
Reading and independent learning have a visible place at NIS. In addition to the central library, reading, study and resource areas are integrated at various points across the campus, so that books, learning resources and quiet workspaces are close at hand for students.
Art & Design
A dedicated Art & Design studio provides space for drawing, designing, making and creative projects. Students can develop ideas, explore different materials and techniques and make their creativity visible.
Multifunctional spaces
Flexible, multifunctional spaces offer possibilities for projects, presentations, collaboration, gatherings and activities that are part of the broader school life.
Meeting & relaxation
Alongside learning, there is attention for meeting others and relaxing. Shared recreation areas and the recreation and relaxation terrace give students places to come together, read, unwind and take part in shared activities.

Early Years at NIS
Specially designed for our youngest learners
At NIS, our youngest learners have a learning environment that suits their age and development.
The Early Years environment combines classrooms with space for play, movement, motor development, creativity and rest. Furniture, materials and facilities are tailored to young children and support both shared and independent discovery.
A separate entrance and age-appropriate facilities contribute to a clearly organised environment in which young children can take their first steps at NIS.

Sport & movement
Movement as part of broad development
Physical education and movement are part of the NIS educational offering.
Sports activities are organised outside the school building, in suitable sports environments. This allows the sports programme to make use of facilities that suit the different activities and ages of our students.
Safety & wellbeing
An environment in which students can develop safely
Safety, clarity and wellbeing are key principles in the development of the campus.
The layout takes into account the different ages and functions within the school. The building design pays attention to clear circulation, appropriate sanitary facilities, separate access where relevant, a first-aid room and provisions for safe evacuation.
There is also attention for wellbeing within the learning environment. Students can withdraw, find calm and feel seen and supported within a safe school environment.

A campus that grows with NIS
Phased development
NIS is developing its campus in phases, in line with the growth of the school and its educational offering.
At the start, the priority is safe, high-quality and functional learning environments for the stages offered first. As NIS grows and further stages of the learning pathway are developed, additional specialist spaces and facilities can be expanded further.
In this way, not only our learning pathway grows, but also the learning environment in which our students develop.
