About the founder & director
Sobhi Achtitah
Sobhi Achtitah is the founder and director of Nador International School. He has many years of experience in international education in the Netherlands and has worked in primary, secondary and higher education in both Morocco and the Netherlands.
His career in education began in Morocco, where he obtained his teaching qualification and worked as a primary school teacher. In the Netherlands he built on his career in education, obtaining both his second-degree and first-degree teaching qualifications in mathematics. He also completed a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education. His experience ranges from teaching students to training and mentoring future teachers.
Alongside his work as a teacher and teacher educator, he has held various coordinating and leadership roles. As a teaching coach, curriculum coordinator and project leader, he was responsible for educational development, quality improvement and the guidance of teachers and students. He also led school improvement programmes from development and implementation through to evaluation and accountability.
This combination of experience in Moroccan and Dutch education, international teaching experience, subject expertise and educational leadership forms the basis of his vision for NIS: a school where international educational quality and personal development go hand in hand with multilingualism and a strong connection to Moroccan language, culture and identity.
