About Nador International School

Nador International School (NIS) is a new international school in Nador, Morocco. NIS aims to connect high-quality international education with personal development, multilingualism and strong engagement with the local community.

From opening, NIS will offer education within Cambridge Early Years, Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary. In a next development phase, the educational offering will be expanded with Cambridge Upper Secondary and Cambridge Advanced.

As a new school, NIS offers staff the opportunity to contribute actively to the development of its education, school culture and school community.

About the role

As a Science teacher, you deliver inspiring and purposeful teaching in physics, chemistry and biology within Secondary. You help students understand scientific concepts and encourage them to ask questions, make connections, carry out investigations and solve problems systematically.

Practical and enquiry-based learning is an important part of your lessons. You supervise practicals, experiments and other investigative activities in a safe and purposeful way and contribute to the development of the NIS science curriculum.

Key responsibilities

As a Science teacher, you:

  • plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in physics, chemistry and biology;
  • make scientific concepts understandable and connect theory with practical applications;
  • supervise safe and purposeful practicals, experiments and other investigative activities;
  • develop students’ enquiry skills, data handling and problem-solving abilities;
  • monitor and assess students’ development and give targeted feedback;
  • contribute to the development of the science curriculum and work with colleagues on cross-curricular teaching;
  • communicate professionally with students, parents and colleagues and contribute to the school community.

What you bring

Required qualifications

You have:

  • a bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry, biology, natural sciences, education or a comparable relevant field;
  • a teaching qualification or an equivalent recognised qualification appropriate to the role;
  • sufficient subject knowledge to teach physics, chemistry and biology within Secondary;
  • a good command of English;
  • strong subject, teaching and pedagogical skills;
  • the ability to connect theoretical and practical science teaching in a safe and meaningful way;
  • good communication and collaboration skills;
  • a professional, responsible and student-centred working attitude.

Desirable:

  • experience with Cambridge Lower Secondary, Cambridge IGCSE or a comparable international curriculum;
  • experience in an international or multilingual school environment;
  • experience with practical science teaching, practicals and laboratory work;
  • command of French and/or Arabic.
