About Nador International School

Nador International School (NIS) is a new international school in Nador, Morocco. NIS aims to connect high-quality international education with personal development, multilingualism and strong engagement with the local community.

From opening, NIS will offer education within Cambridge Early Years, Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary. In a next development phase, the educational offering will be expanded with Cambridge Upper Secondary and Cambridge Advanced.

As a new school, NIS offers staff the opportunity to contribute actively to the development of its education, school culture and school community.

About the role

As an Islamic Education teacher, you deliver careful, age-appropriate teaching across Primary and Secondary. You guide students in developing knowledge and understanding of Islam, the Quran, Islamic values, history and ethics.

You adapt your teaching to students’ age, level and learning needs and encourage them to connect knowledge with reflection and their daily conduct. You also contribute to the development of the continuous Islamic Education learning pathway at NIS.

Key responsibilities

As an Islamic Education teacher, you:

  • plan and deliver carefully prepared, age-appropriate Islamic education across Primary and Secondary;
  • guide students in developing knowledge of the Quran, Islamic values, history and ethics;
  • encourage understanding, reflection and the application of values in daily life;
  • adapt teaching to different ages, levels and learning needs;
  • monitor and assess students’ development and give targeted feedback;
  • contribute to the development of the continuous Islamic Education learning pathway and work with colleagues where cross-curricular connections are appropriate;
  • communicate professionally with students, parents and colleagues and contribute to the school community.

What you bring

Required qualifications

You have:

  • a bachelor’s degree in Islamic studies, Islamic education, theology, education or a comparable relevant field;
  • a teaching qualification or an equivalent recognised qualification appropriate to the role;
  • demonstrable subject knowledge relevant to delivering Islamic education;
  • a good command of Arabic;
  • sufficient command of English to work professionally within the international school environment;
  • strong teaching and pedagogical skills;
  • good communication and collaboration skills;
  • a professional, responsible and student-centred working attitude.

Desirable:

  • experience with Islamic education in Primary and/or Secondary;
  • experience in an international or multilingual school environment;
  • experience developing or delivering a continuous learning pathway for Islamic education;
  • command of French.
