About Nador International School

Nador International School (NIS) is a new international school in Nador, Morocco. NIS aims to connect high-quality international education with personal development, multilingualism and strong engagement with the local community.

From opening, NIS will offer education within Cambridge Early Years, Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Lower Secondary. In a next development phase, the educational offering will be expanded with Cambridge Upper Secondary and Cambridge Advanced.

As a new school, NIS offers staff the opportunity to contribute actively to the development of its education, school culture and school community.

About the role

As an English teacher, you deliver inspiring and purposeful teaching across Primary and Secondary. You develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening and encourage critical thinking, creativity and effective communication.

You adapt your teaching to the age, language level and learning needs of students within our international and multilingual student population. You also contribute to the development of a continuous English learning pathway from Primary to Secondary.

Key responsibilities

As an English teacher, you:

  • plan and deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons across Primary and Secondary;
  • develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening;
  • encourage critical thinking, language awareness, creativity and effective communication;
  • adapt teaching to students’ age, language level and educational needs;
  • monitor and assess students’ development and give targeted feedback;
  • contribute to the development of a continuous learning pathway and the English department, and work with colleagues on cross-curricular teaching;
  • communicate professionally with students, parents and colleagues and contribute to the school community.

What you bring

Required qualifications

You have:

  • a bachelor’s degree in English, English language and literature, education or a comparable relevant field;
  • a teaching qualification or an equivalent recognised qualification appropriate to the role;
  • an excellent command of English;
  • strong teaching and pedagogical skills;
  • the ability to adapt teaching to different ages, language levels and educational needs;
  • good communication and collaboration skills;
  • a professional, responsible and student-centred working attitude.

Desirable:

  • experience with Cambridge Primary, Cambridge Lower Secondary, Cambridge IGCSE or a comparable international curriculum;
  • experience in an international or multilingual school environment;
  • experience teaching students for whom English is not their first language;
  • experience with formative assessment and differentiated teaching;
  • experience with English Language and/or Literature;
  • command of French and/or Arabic.
